Doomsday is upon us, and Half Price Books is hosting the much-anticipated event. Well, not exactly. Artist and former Dallas Cowboys Doomsday Defense member Dave Edwards will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the 5803 E. Northwest Highway location, with 50 limited-edition reproductions of his original artwork, “Doomsday.” All 50 copies have been individually autographed by former Cowboys defensemen Edwards, Bob Lilly, George Andrie, Mel Refro, Lee Roy Jordan, Jethro Pugh and Larry Cole. The prints will sell for $100 each. Proceeds benefit Literacy Instruction for Texas. Call 214-379-8000.
