My uncle still talks about the night he saw a belly dancer fold a dollar bill with her stomach. But there’s more to belly dancing than, well, drool. There’s shimmying, shiny veils and bells and all kinds of neat stuff that focuses attention on and glorifies that oft-maligned section of the body, the belly. This weekend you’ve got the chance to see some belly dancing–and do some shaking yourself, if so inclined–when 3rd Coast Tribal, the largest tribal belly dancing event in the central United States, comes to Fort Worth. There’ll be classes featuring sword and fire dancing, in addition to internationally known belly dancers, Thursday through Sunday at the Rose Marine Theater, 1440 N. Main St., in Fort Worth. Tickets are $20. Visit 3rdcoasttribal.com for more information.
