Pairing the traditional arts of basket making and screen making, Modern Twist: Bamboo Works from the Clark Center and the Art of Motoko Maio, will debut with a dual exhibition, featuring a selection of bamboo works and folding screens. Various artists from the Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture in California will exhibit their bamboo works while artist Motoko Maio exhibits the reinvented art of byobu. Modern Twist will begin its display this weekend and last through September 5 at The Crow Collection of Asian Art (2010 Flora St.) in the Dallas Arts District. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays through Sundays; the gallery is closed on Mondays. Admission is free and open to the public.
