Flashdance The Musical is coming to a stage near you at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Remember that little silver-screen gem? Back when young movie stars didn’t suck. (I’m looking at you, Ashley Benson … or, you know, any of them.) Plus, it gave us two of the hottest things ever: one-shoulder sweatshirts and Chris Farley’s “I’m a Maniac” re-enactment in Tommy Boy. Guess what? The play is just as rad, and the lead actually looks like Jennifer Beals. Freaky deaky. Of course, the soundtrack is still gnarly, and the dancing? Boss. Go relive the story of Alex, the welder, apprehensively pursuing her life’s dream to dance for the Conservatory while getting sexually harassed at her day job. At least that’s what we’d call it today. Back in 1983, it was just called romance. Flashdance The Musical runs through Sunday, July 7, at Music Hall at Fair Park (909 1st Ave.). Tickets start at $20.25 and are available now at ticketmaster.com.
