Think your kid’s got what it takes to be the next top chef? OK, maybe not right now, but Central Market can help you get a good start. Its cooking school staff has taken on the daunting task of teaching your little cookie monsters (ages 6 to 12) some baking basics with Kids in the Kitchen: Valentine’s Day Delights. By the end of class, your flour child will be tempering chocolate and egg whipping with the best of them. So what are you going to get out of it? How about a kid who can make yummy treats such as Sweetheart Cookie Pops, Double-Dipped Chocolate Strawberries and Meringue Kisses (even if they still can’t clean up after themselves). The kids get to cook from noon to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Central Market, 5750 E. Lovers Lane. The class is $40, by reservation only. Call 214-361-5754 or visit centralmarket.com.
Sun., Feb. 11, 12-2:30 p.m.
