Ashley North Compton says it right on her website: “I make a mean cocktail.” It’s wedged under her one million other jobs — including beekeeper — but hey, it’s there. And soon, she’ll be here, at Oil & Cotton teaching your bumpkin ass how to make a proper drink. Lucky for you, Compton is well versed in fusing both culinary and medicinal herbs, and throughout the three-hour class she’ll demonstrate how to make two signature cocktails. She’ll also offer a casual lecture and real live hands-on experience. The first workshop is called Infusing Liquors & Cocktails (vodka base) and guess what? There are goody bags … er … bottles. Each participant will walk away with one 3-ounce bottle of handmade vodka. How do you do! Join the potion mix from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oil & Cotton, 837 W. 7th St. Each class is $75. For more info or to register for the workshop, visit oilandcotton.com. To check out Compton’s handiwork, head to ashleynorthcompton.com.
