Sunday night’s Funniest Comic in Texas finals featured six very funny sets from six talented comedians, but the crown went to Raul Sanchez.

The San Antonio native beat out Brad LaCour, Linda Stogner, Ryan Perrio, Josh Johnson and Jason James to win the trophy, a big check and a week’s worth of work at the Addison Improv. The voting for the winner was determined by a group of judges that included 24/7 Comedy Radio’s director of programming Quinn Cannady, TheaterJones.com’s “Chief Comedy Critic” Amy Martin and yours truly.

Sanchez, last year’s winner of the Funnest Comic in South Texas contest at San Antonio’s Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club, was visibly shocked by his big win as he clutched the trophy on stage and stood behind the mic during his acceptance speech. We’ll have a Q&A with the winner soon but in the meantime, you can enjoy the material that won him the title and bragging rights.
