If you’re a fan of anything in this world, there is a convention dedicated to it somewhere in the world. Of course, it’s not economically feasible to fly halfway around the world just to publicly declare your love in creative cosplay to the Saturday morning cartoon series Rubix, the Amazing Cube. The Dallas All-Con, Thursday through Sunday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 14315 Midway Road in Addison, has come up with an interesting solution. Unlike other fan conventions dedicated to one subset of nerdery, the All-Con crams them together in one giant gathering of geeks with special guests such as Face Off makeup artist Heather Henry and Jem voice actress Samantha Newark and events such as movie sing-alongs, live geek-themed game shows and a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcasted by Dallas’ LosBastardos troupe. Admission is free on Thursday, $35 per person Friday through Sunday.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 10-1 a.m.; Sun., March 16, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: March 13. Continues through March 15, 2014
