In fifth grade, the guy next to us showed off what he called his “pink alien” and got two weeks detention and what I’m sure was a rather traumatic sit-down at home. I was sufficiently horrified. Odd then, that Katherine Baronet‘s series of paintings, Pink Alien, doesn’t frighten us one bit. The layered pieces are at once whimsical and probing, light in one spot and moody in another. (Wonder why we relate so well…) Kitchen 1924, 1924 Abrams Parkway, exposes Baronet’s Pink Alien through September. Go ahead, you know you wanna look. Call 214-821-1924.
