The League of American Orchestras is holding its 67th national conference in Dallas this week. The schedule is pretty run of the mill conferencey stuff – sessions on budgeting, fundraising, marketing, etc. However, in addition to these planning sessions, the Fort Worth Symphony will perform a showcase concert (open to the public) in the Meyerson Symphony Hall. With the regular subscription seasons wrapped up, consider this a little bonus offering for those who might’ve missed their chance to hear our neighbor symphony this year, or who are just hungry for a little more.

Tonight, the Fort Worth Symphony will present a program featuring contemporary American composers with works by Jennifer Higdon and Kevin Puts. The orchestra will by joined by Southern Methodist University’s Artist-in-Residence, Chee-Yun on the violin. The program concludes with Dvorák’s 7th symphony. Tickets to hear the FWSO perform at the Meyerson cost $45-$71.
