Has it been a while since you’ve seen a proper bastardization of a classic? Then might we suggest an evening with Frankenstein, the Musical? See, we think that if you’re going to put a spin on something, then you might as well spin it till you’re dizzy, which is what locals Mary Medrick and Rodney Dobbbs did to Mary Shelley’s classic about the most misunderstood monster of them all. Not to be confused with its hoity step-sibling (the award-winning Frankenstein — A New Musical), this performance is full of all of the things you would expect from a Pocket Sandwich production, dubbed “a rollicking musical spoof.” Frankenstein, the Musical opens Friday and runs through September 29 at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre, 5400 E. Mockingbird Lane, #119. Seating and food service (featuring a full menu, beer and wine) start an hour and a half before curtain. Tickets are $10 to $20. Call 214-821-1860 or visit pocketsandwich.com.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: Aug. 31. Continues through Sept. 29, 2012
