Adaptations can be funny things. Take, for example, Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical. Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Jekyll & Hyde takes the short tale of good and evil and mixes in a few songs, a lot more murders, and some hot hookers for something truly Broadway-bound and quite different from the original. Looking like it’s been ripped from the pages of a Harlequin romance novel, the newest production of Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical, starring American Idol favorite Constantine Marolulis and Canadian R&B superstar Deborah Cox, is making a stop in town before it returns to Broadway. Presented by AT&T Performing Arts Center, Jekyll & Hyde takes to the big stage at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St. Jekyll & Hyde performances run through December 16.
