Back in the ’80s, The Dallas Museum of Art replicated several rooms of the art-packed French Riviera villa of Wendy (Texan and fashion model) and Emery (Hungarian writer and art collector) Reves to display the couple’s dizzying collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art including pieces by van Gogh, Monet and Degas. A lecture and dinner event, When Palette and Palate Meet, celebrates the intersection of the couple’s art and the cuisine of their adopted country. While DMA senior curator Olivier Meslay narrates selections from the artistic palette, Lavendou Bistro Provencal owner-chef Pierre Cayet will satisfy the palate with with a three-course French dinner. The program starts 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Lavendou, located at 19009 Preston Road, Suite 200. Tickets are $75. To purchase ahead, call 972-248-1911 or e-mail provencial@aol.com. Proceeds go to Essilor Vision Foundation, which helps kids in need.
