The interminable gap between All-Star Weekend and the Western Conference playoffs must be a hellish version of Groundhog Day for Mark Cuban, watching his Mavericks fumble year after year as the Lakers (or Spurs) head to the Finals for yet another shot at yet another title. Zen master Phil Jackson must have done something right in a past life to be gifted with both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant in his earthly go-round. While Cuban beats his chest, hoping 2011 might be the one for the Mavs, we must be ready to watch the farce play itself out again. But there is hope: the Mavs pulled themselves out of a six game losing streak with a win over the Lakers in January. They meet again 8 p.m. Saturday at the American Airlines Center, 2500 Victory Ave. Tickets are $30 and up. Visit ticketmaster.com.
