Chances are, you’ll recognize a familiar voice in the above clip of Miami Horror‘s “Holidays.” No? C’mon, it’s easy. Yup: That’s DFW’s own Alan Palomo, of Neon Indian and VEGA fame, sure enough, collaborating with the Aussie-based Miami Horror for the above nu-disco jam.
Unfortunately, it’s not looking like we can expect a cameo from Palomo at tonight’s Granada Theater show from Miami Horror–if MySpace is any indication, it looks like Palomo’s out in California for a few DJ and performance gigs of his own to worry about.
Alas, this should still be quite the show: Live, Miami Horror’s Ben Plant supplements his solo recordings with the aid of three fellow backing players. And, as we discussed in this week’s paper, Miami Horror’s got the benefit of some excellent local support, too:
Opening this show are two other locals: Ishi side project Soft Environmental Collapse will launch the night; meanwhile, eight-bit J-pop genius Avery Williamson’s Fizzy Dino Pop will serve as direct support. And it should be quite the show from Fizzy, too: For the first time in months, this show will feature Williamson’s creative partner, vocalist Yuria Hashimoto, performing live in the flesh rather than via samples.
