Tomorrow night at the Granada Theater, the ever-buzzing Yeasayer will offer up a sure-to-be-well-attended headlining performance in support of its latest release, Odd Blood.
The disc, however is a bit of a departure for the band–more poppy than its 2007 debut and breakthrough All Hour Cymbals, that’s for sure–and fans of the Brooklyn act have been somewhat split on its merits. Among those with differing opinions? Two of our own critics, Doug Davis and Catherine Downes. The former digs the change, the latter not so much.
As such, in this week’s paper (out later today/early tomorrow) those two go scribes will face off in print, offering up their differing takes on the new disc–both supported with quotes from their shared interview with frontman Chris Keating. Keep an eye out for that tandem piece for sure; it raises some interesting questions.
