There is an eight-show outdoor concert series in the middle of the summer in Dallas. None of the artists have been announced yet. So why might you be tempted to spend $180 right now on a season pass to such a thing?

Barefoot at the Belmont, KXT’s now five-year-old series at the Oak Cliff hotel, puts national and local bands out on the spacious lawn by the pool. It boasts maybe the best view out their of the Dallas skyline and the setting makes for a genuinely special occasion. It also sells out with remarkable consistency. There are worse ways to spend $22.50 on a concert, is what we’re saying.

Barefoot at the Belmont 2014 season passes are on sale now through KXT as part of their winter fundraising campaign. There’s a bunch of other stuff there, too — tickets to a few other concerts and some odds and ends, all of which support the operational costs of your friendly neighborhood independent radio station.

In case you’re wondering, last year’s Barefoot series featured (among others) Matt Pond, Cody ChesnuTT, Kopecky Family Band, JD McPherson, Amy Cook and Air Review. The season pass deal is available until the end of January. Last year, they announced the lineup in early April, so that’s probably about when you can expect to learn what you’ve got.
