Interestingly enough, not only are there a lot of posters floating around for this weekend; there are a lot of posters floating around for Gorilla Vs. Bear Festival, which will take place at The Granada Theater on Saturday, July 23.

Easily, the most highly anticipated performance of the festival will be Tim DeLaughter’s new act Preteen Zenith, which will make its debut just before White Denim takes the Granada Stage.

Turns out, the winning designer is a newcomer to our poster of the week contest, but has worked with DeLaughter and company for years. Rolyn Barthelman, the party responsible for the brilliant above poster, also designed the Wee See children’s videos commissioned and written by DeLaughter.

The brightly colored poster catches the eye with colors not far from what you’d expect from a Polyphonic Spree poster. The poster looks to have a taste of mid-century modern design amongst other influences. Observer art director Alex Flores especially likes the way the Z does double duty.
