Talk all you want about being “over” Austin and its festivals, but every once in a while you just have to swallow your pride. Austin City Limits’ lineup for its 15th annual festival, announced overnight, is definitely one of those occasions.
The fact that Radiohead will be headlining this year’s ACL is, in and of itself, probably reason enough to consider braving the six-hour drive (or whatever it is now) to get down to Austin. The Brits haven’t been to Dallas since they played American Airlines Center in 2012, just a couple days before they played their final Texas gig period (in Austin, of course).
Just a couple day after releasing a new single, “Burn the Witch,” and announcing a world tour, Thom Yorke and company should be gearing up for a pretty big year — and they ought to be at full tilt by the time they hit ACL in September and October.

It’s not just Radiohead playing, either. LCD Soundsystem, recently reunited (remember their “retirement?”) at Coachella, are following the festival circuit cash grab to ACL, along with Kendrick Lamar, Major Lazer, Chris Stapleton, and M83, which will feature Denton’s Kaela Sinclair on keys. Fellow North Texan Kacey Musgraves is also on the bill, while sentimental favorite Willie Nelson will make an appearance for the fest’s anniversary as well.
Tickets go on sale at 10:00 this morning, so you’d better not waste any time deciding whether you’ll want to go. Single day passes run $100 while three-day passes are $255.
