In this week’s paper, Doug Davis catches up with Autolux‘s Greg Edwards to talk about the shoegaze-y Los Anegeles-based band’s return to the spotlight with the recently released Transit Transit, the band’s sophomore release and its first after six full years of absence. Edwards, [drummer Carla] Azar and bassist Eugene Goreshter have released an album that provides some musical bridges back to Future Perfect but is much more sonically nuanced. You can hear the sonic differences for yourself tomorrow night when the band stops through town for a gig at The Loft. And, thanks tot he folks over at that venue, we’ve got the hookup on five free pairs of tickets to the affair. Want one of the pairs? Just be among the first five to email me right now with the words “Safe Auto” in the subject line and you’re in. Good luck!
