The New York Times‘ Great Homes and Destinations blog wonders what kind of pad you can get for $250,000 and comes up with a few options: a three-bedroom, three-bath 179-year-old house near the Fore River in Portland, Maine; a five-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath house in Athens, Georgia (oh, to live near the 40 Watt Club circa 1981); or a two-bedroom, two-bath condo at the Wyndemere at Turtle Creek. And what makes the Wyndemere a recommended hot spot?
Dallas is a city that still favors drivers, but there have been an increasing number of pedestrian-friendly initiatives over the past several years. Notable ones include the expansion of parkland around the Trinity River, two miles southwest, and the construction of the Katy Trail along a former railroad line nearby.
Uh-hunh. And you also get a great view of the very former Tower Records. But, see, last I heard, Dallas just wasn’t a condo kinda town.
