Turns out that David Wilson, the guy responsible for the sweet synth and ukulele cover of Sarah Jaffe’s “Clementine” that we posted this morning, has more where that came from.
Check the above clip to hear his cover of Ishi‘s “Pastel Lights,” paired with some sped-up driving clips from around town. (Compare it with the original, posted after the jump.)
Expect more in the future, too. Wilson, who local music fans will remember as the guitar/synth guy for area favorites DARYL, is planning to cover all of the DOMAXXII-nominated Best Songs–just ’cause, far as we can tell. We certainly had nothing to do with it.
So, get ready, I guess, to hear synth covers of The Beaten Sea’s “Doctor’s Not Gonna Cure Our Ills,” Seryn’s “We Will All Be Changed,” Spooky Folk’s “Bible Belt” and Telegraph Canyon’s “Shake Your Fist” soon enough. And we’ll post them all, soon as they’re ready.
