Leading up to our annual Best of Dallas® issue, we’re counting down the 50 most interesting restaurants in Dallas. These spots bring something unique or compelling to the city’s dining scene, feeding both your appetite and soul.
For two years now, 20 Feet has been serving up some of the best casual seafood you can get in Dallas. Fish and chips, fried clams, lobster rolls and other classics you’d normally find in a New England clam shack are served right here in East Dallas with the care you’d normally associate with full-service dining.
Owners Marc Cassel and Susan Fries offer more refined dishes, too. You can order a bowl of mussels and shiitake mushrooms scented with plenty of fresh ginger, or a bowl of ramen with a fat hunk of grilled pork belly floating in the center of it.
If the weather is good enough, grab a seat on the patio out front, pop the top on a beer from the six-pack you brought and pretend you’re at the beach for a while. Even if it’s a little warmer than is optimal, an air-conditioning unit keeps some cool air moving, loosely evoking an ocean breeze if you’ve had enough to drink.
