Janet Parker, a 61-year-old waitress, was working the overnight shift at an Irving Denny’s on State Highway 183 this morning when her husband, Thomas Parker, walked in.

Without warning, the 54-year-old took out a knife and stabbed his wife several times, according to a release from the Irving Police Department.

Restaurant manager Diane Couturier told NBC 5 she was in the office when she heard someone screaming. She emerged to find Janet Parker on the couch, screaming as her husband stabbed her in the chest. When Couturier stepped forward, Thomas Parker turned to leave.

Police arrived just as he was leaving the restaurant and arrested him without incident, according to police. He was booked into the Irving Jail on one count of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. Janet Parker was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
