Never you mind those stories about how today’s Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle’s last day. Sure, April 30 was his original retirement date. But it’s been pushed back — surely you didn’t think the city would go without a top cop till Tuesday, when Chief Designate David Brown will be sworn in at 3 p.m. on the shiny button. So we’ll have an exit interview with Kunkle on Monday, which we’ll conduct some time after 11 that morning — once the No. 1 cop-for-now finishes a grueling DPD CrossFit workout named specifically for Kunkle.
It’s called “The Commish.”
Yes, confirms DPD spokesman Lt. Andy Harvey: This is where it got its name. I know, I know. That wasn’t the question.
Update: As you can see, DPD’s sent over some nice pics of the commissioner during a training session with his officers. Another follows. Now … jump! How high, sir?
