Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is kicking off the holiday season with its annual wine tasting this weekend. The wine list varies from a 2012 “Terrers” Brut Nature, Gran Reserva, Cava Recaredo from Penedes, Spain, to a 1983 “Créme De Téte” Chateau Gilette, Preignac from Sauternes, France. Tickets do not include tax or gratuity.

This weekend, Good Local Markets hosts its 10th annual Battle of the Pies, and it’s the public’s job to award winners in the categories of fruit, nut, chocolate, cream/custard, most beautiful and best overall. Tasting tickets are available the day of the event.

The Rustic jumps into the holiday spirit with its Pints, Pigskin and Pig Roast event. Guests can enjoy roasted pig that’s smoked on the patio and served as the Rustic’s pork carnitas. $1 from every carnitas taco purchase will go to the North Texas Food Bank. NoCast Brewery will also be on-site featuring beer that pairs perfectly with the roasted pig: the Agriculture Rye.
