Frankie’s Sport Bar & Grill in Uptown at 3227 McKinney Ave. closed last week. This spot originally opened in 2000 and after 13 years of making it possible to watch every college football game at once, posted this message to their Facebook page:
We’re heartbroken to leave our original Uptown location, but hope to be back in Dallas in 2014. In the mean time, stop by and see us in Fort Worth and Lewisville!
Owners Bill and Johnnie Katz posted a note to their website that they “hate to leave” the Uptown spot, but it’s time to move on to “bigger and better things,” which mostly likely involves better lease terms.
We’ll watch for a new Frankie’s in Uptown in 2014.
