We were under the impression that The Hunger Games was something that happened during sorority rush at SMU. Actually, it’s another one of those kids’ books that adults have commandeered as “dystopian literature.” Apparently it was also made into a movie with a hosts of hot young stars and also Woody Harrelson.
To celebrate this week’s DVD release from I Heart Cinema, Blockbuster Video at 4535 Frankford Road — hey, Blockbuster still exists! — is hosting a party tonight from 9:00 p.m. to midnight, featuring star Leven Rambin (who played Glimmer) , and with giveaways including a special appearance by KHKS-FM on-air talent; Hunger Games survival food; trivia contests for prizes; and a special Tribute mini-makeover.
We have no idea what that last one is. But we do know that costumes are encouraged, and you know what happens when costumes are involved.
Correction: Leven Rambin will be doing a fan signing at Walmart (1521 N. Cockrell Hill Rd.) not at Blockbuster, tonight, from 11:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
