All year, he’s been taking his cheesy smile and well-pressed suits to cities across the U.S. on his “Modern Romance” tour and tickets sell out quickly, so take a minute to set a calendar alert in your phone. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday
Ansari’s early days as a comic were spent crafting his own brand of nerdy comedy that poked fun at pretentious hipster culture. A natural goofball, his affable dorkiness as Parks and Recreation‘s sarcastic entrepreneur, Tom Haverford, earned him a loyal following. There’s even TomHaverfoods.com, a web site fully devoted to a single bit on the show, during which Tom is a culinary wordsmith. In his stand-up shows, don’t expect wholesome Tom, but do expect a suit. Ansari is his own charming, swaggerific character, with an inappropriate sense of humor and an unhealthy obsession with pop culture.
