We’re hoping for at least a few Rick Perry punchlines at Backdoor Comedy April 1, since his expecting anyone with a vagina (or anyone who cares for anyone with a vagina) to respect him must surely be fall under the category of an April Fool’s joke. Zing! Rimshot and blue spot, please! Oh, sure, we fancy ourselves jokesters, and maybe someday we’ll get up on a stage and work a crowd, but this isn’t the time. We promise we’ll leave the stand-up to the pros at the inaugural April Fool’s Comedy Jam 8:30 p.m. that night. Laughs will be provided by Observer Mastermind finalist Linda Stogner, Vince Quick from BET’s Comic View, and headliner Aaron Aryanpur, whom we’ll remind you was the runner-up in the Funniest Comic in Texas competition.
