While politicians deal with immigration using talk about building fences, artists try to bring fences down. Who’s right? Who knows, but while one makes policy, the other reports — letting you decide. Migrations and Mythology, a display of artwork by Dallas artist Humberto Saenz, deals with the immigration issue. Presented at the Ice House Cultural Center, it is a collection of paintings, prints and mixed-media addressing the debate. Combining myth with contemporary Mexican concerns, Saenz seeks to give viewers a perspective of the issues that have affected the Mexican community in the United States. Push your boundaries as the exhibition runs through July 19. A closing reception with the artist will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 19. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. Call 214-670-7524 or visit dallasculture.org for more information.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: July 3. Continues through July 19, 2008
