You’ve traversed your way up and down Greenville Avenue since the wee hours of the morning, gone balls out just to snag a set of green beads from a sorority girl on a flat-bed truck and openly wondered how the hell one decides to take up bagpipes as a hobby. Now it’s creeping up on the noon hour, and you need to up the ante on your St. Patrick’s celebrations by taking in some live music and hoisting a green beverage to the Patron Saint of the Good Time (that’d be Mark Cuban). Of course, you’ll want to head to Energy Square (at the corner of Greenville and University) post-parade for the annual Dallas Observer St. Patrick’s Day Concert, which features Ryan Bingham & The Dead Horses along with Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights and other local favorites (See Music section for more information). Tickets for that show will run you $15 and may be purchased online at microapp.dallasobserver.com/stpatricksday. After the show is over, walk to Barley House, just down the street at 5612 Yale, for their yearly St. Pat’s bash where The Covers Brothers encourage your best drunken sing-alongs beginning at 3 p.m. Go south on Greenville to The Dubliner, 2818 Greenville, for an authentic Irish party featuring The Mumbles at 8 p.m. And when you’ve had all the Greenville you can handle, hop a cab to House of Blues, 2200 N Lamar, for the official “After After Party” with Rhymin’ and Stealin’ (the ultimate Beastie Boys cover band) starting at 9 p.m. Tickets for that event are $12.50 and may be purchased at houseofblues.com.
