Earlier this year, it seemed FC Dallas forward Kenny Cooper was out the door. Multiple European clubs were inquiring about his services and offering to pay millions to get Cooper on the other side of the pond. It got to the point that before the last transfer window closed (the soccer equivalent to a trading deadline) Cooper was signing jerseys for fans in the stands and planning his goodbyes. In the end, Cooper didn’t go, and it’s a good thing. He’s one of the top goal scorers in Major League Soccer and a major reason FC Dallas is in the hunt for the playoffs. See Cooper and the rest of the Hoops take on D.C. United 2 p.m. Sunday at Pizza Hut Park. For tickets visit web.mlsnet.com. And remember: After this year, you may not have many more chances to see the Dallas native don the red and white.
