Hmm. Now that I think of it, I can recall only a couple of snatches of music from Alfred Hitchcock films: the screaming violins from the shower in Psycho and the thrumming from the scene with the swinging lamp, when Mother showed her face. Of course, the master director must have made better use of film scores than that. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra certainly thinks so. It’s performing music from Hitchcock’s movies – like To Catch a Thief, Vertigo and North By Northwest — while playing scenes from the movies on screen at Bass Performance Hall, 525 Commerce St. in Fort Worth. Scores by Lyn Murray, Bernard Hermann and Dmitri Tiomkin are on the program, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $27 to $82 and are available at fwsymphony.org. Sunday’s performance includes a chance to meet the musicians afterward in the lobby.
