Ah, Labor Day: the best excuse September offers to get completely wasted on a Sunday. You probably already know how you’re going to get your holiday weekend Sunday Funday started (Mimosas? A pool? Both?), so here is how you’re going to cap it off: by letting your inhibitions and your pipes loose on the late-night karaoke-drunk crowd at The Goat. Every Sunday night, Carmen — The Goat’s legendary mistress of ceremonies — holds court on what is arguably Dallas’ best karaoke night. This Sunday, you’ll want to get your name on the list early if you plan to take the stage alongside Carmen’s trusty live “band” and eager crowd of regulars. You’ll know your diva dreams are on target if your performance brings the drunken dive-bar crowd to the makeshift dance floor in front of the stage. Karaoke with Carmen at The Goat (7248 Gaston Ave.) starts around 9 p.m. every Sunday and runs until last call.
