Jason Woelfel’s photographs are the stuff of glossy calendars, “Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy” and those inspirational posters on the ceiling of your dentist’s office, which is to say—they’re damn scenic. His Web site, after all, can be found at scenicimages.com, where you’ll see nature photographs of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, Colorado and even British Columbia. Woelfel’s newest exhibit, Quiet Wanderings, collects some of these images in what Woelfel refers to as a “journal” of his outdoor adventures, which will soon take him to China (there’s big money in the panda paparazzi trade, or so we hear). See Wanderings in the bar/gallery of the Magnolia Theatre in the West Village, 3699 McKinney Ave., Thursday through July 18. An opening reception kicks things off from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.
