If you love Mardi Gras but want to save yourself from New Orleans’ immersive chaos, then think locally. What if I were to tell you that you can have all the Big Easy fun you want while saving yourself an eight-hour drive, courtesy of Viva Dallas Burlesque? Yes, it’s true. The largest burlesque show in Texas is throwing the biggest and best Mardi Gras party in town on Friday night at the Lakewood Theatre (1825 Abrams Parkway). Hosted by Violet O’Hara, the show will include performances by Iris Le Mour, Ruby Joule, Jolie Goodnight, Honey Cocoa Bordeaux and Pearl Lux, and the entire show will be set to live jazz from Club Wood. Food trucks will provide the taste of NOLA, and the evening will include floats, beads and everything else you would expect from the ladies of Viva Dallas Burlesque.
