Sometimes Q&As exist to promote the movie you just saw, with the same generalized questions and canned answers, but the really good ones involve conversation, back story and inspiration. If you prefer the latter, then we recommend this Thursday’s screening and Q&A of Sassy Pants. It’s a girl’s coming of age comedy, complete with a crazy overbearing mother, a gay alcoholic father, a quirky wardrobe and a beloved scrapbook. Hosted by Women in Film Dallas, the screening of Sassy Pants will be followed by a Q&A with writer and director Coley Sohn, who will discuss the film’s journey from Sundance short to feature film and everything in between, providing the insight and empowerment we’ve come to expect from Women in Film Dallas events. The screening starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Studio Movie Grill, 13933 N. Central Expressway. The event is free for members and $5 to $8 for guests and non-members.
