We’ve never been accused of being sophisticated, so it should come as no surprise that the phrase “Delicately Dirty” takes our minds directly to the gutter. What might it mean? An online store selling pre-owned lingerie? A fetish shop focusing on leather and lace? An indie doc exposing the innermost lusts of ballerinas? As it turns out, Delicately Dirty is an exhibit of new work by artist Harmony Padgett. Oh. That was our next guess. Padgett’s works employ mechanical “violence” such as gouging and carving to create subtlety and elegance, because as the artist herself says, “It’s fun to blur the line between what is hard and rough, and what is soft and sensual.” Yeah, that’s what dominatrices have been telling us for years. See Delicately Dirty through February 11 at Mighty Fine Arts, 407 N. Tyler St. Call 214-942-5241.
Saturdays, Sundays. Starts: Jan. 13. Continues through Feb. 11
