The end notwithstanding, it’s sometimes hard to decide if Elle Woods’ leap into law is tragic or inspiring. Considering that the reason for her sudden interest in justice is to win back a dude, it’s sort of irritating. But taking the lemonade-from-lemons approach, it’s fantastic — as is pretty much any excuse to stop being vapid, materialistic and uneducated. So, weighing the arguments, we’ll call this a win for Woods. Also, technically it’s a win for the Garland Civic Theatre to bring the wildly popular play to the suburban stage. Watch the story unfold live as GCT presents Legally Blonde the Musical through December 8. Performances take place at the Granville Arts Center, 300 N. 5th St. in Garland. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:30 p.m. for select matinees. Tickets are $22 to $27. Call 972-485-8884 or visit garlandcivictheatre.org.
