Pour one out for the recently deceased but still awesome Ernest Borgnine before you enter the theater Tuesday, will ya? And have a drink for his badass wife. No, not Ethel Merman (though badass, they were married less time than a Kardashian to a Humphries), but TV shopping maven Tova Traesnaes. You could, at the very least, make a couple of toasts in the Magnolia Lounge before D Front Row presents disaster and claustrophobia classic The Poseidon Adventure as part of The Big Movie series. Gene Hackman, Red Buttons, Roddy McDowall, Shelley Winters and others star with Borgnine in the story of passengers trapped inside a capsized luxury liner. The set was built on hydraulics (rad) and the movie was one of the kickoffs for the 1970s disaster-film trend (more rad). It’s too hot to not be in water or a movie theater, so do both at once 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Landmark Magnolia Pictures is located in West Village. Visit landmarktheatres.com. Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 for seniors and $8.50 for students.
