Michelle Winder, a railroad switch operator, has taken hundreds of photographs over the years of graffiti-covered boxcars that have passed through Fort Worth railyards. Inspired by her mentor, photographer and gallery owner Perry Caldwell, the graffiti Winder has chosen to capture on film is more than the sort of hastily-done scribbling that mars so many buildings, signs and other public spaces. In Winder’s mind, it’s art, worthy of being recorded and celebrated as such. Her exhibit, Out on a Rail, shows through October 13 at the Heliotrope gallery, 3461B Bluebonnet Circle in Fort Worth. Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: Sept. 20. Continues through Oct. 13, 2007
